A Journey I Never Saw Coming.

Hey, welcome! I’m so glad you’re here.

A few years ago, if you’d told me I’d be obsessed with photography, I would’ve laughed. Creativity? Not me. But here I am, fully hooked, and I’ve never felt more alive.

It all started when COVID hit. Like so many, I was stuck at home and losing my mind. Then, I got a dog, which was great for my mental health, but suddenly, I had no time for myself. To carve out some space, I started taking long walks for self-care.

One day, I wandered into a Brooklyn neighborhood that felt like something out of a movie—big houses, tree-lined streets, and an energy that was unlike anything I’d ever seen. I was hooked. I kept going back, soaking it all in. Eventually, it turned into videos, and soon after, I was snapping hundreds of photos on my phone, trying to capture the beauty around me.

That’s when I realized—I loved taking pictures.

How I Accidentally Fell in Love with Photography

At first, it was just for me. But when people started complimenting my photos (not all of them, let’s be real), I realized I wanted to push myself. I wanted to learn more, get better, and see the world through a new perspective—my own.

Now, photography is my favorite creative outlet. It’s still a hobby, but one that fuels me in a way I haven’t felt since I was a kid. Through Lens Through MEC, I want to capture personal stories—whether it’s the beauty of nature, the hope in fresh starts, or the magic of everyday moments. And in the future, I hope to share the resilience of blood clot survivors, a community I deeply connect with.

And if you stick around, you’ll also get my unfiltered, slightly awkward musings on life—like how taking pictures in public makes you look like an undercover detective, or how getting the perfect shot sometimes means risking total embarrassment (and maybe a rolled ankle).

So, if you’re here for real stories, heartfelt moments, and a few laughs along the way, welcome to my little corner of the internet. Stick around and follow my journey on Instagram: Lens Through MEC.

Until next time,
MEC
